Lachgasverbod
Sinds 1 januari 2023 staat lachgas op lijst II van de Opiumwet. Wat betekent dit? Vanaf dit jaar is het verboden om lachgas als genotsmiddel:
- Bij je te hebben
- Te verkopen
- Of te vervoeren
Het doel van dit verbod is om het gebruik van lachgas onder particulieren terug te dringen. Hiermee hoopt de overheid ook het aantal verkeersincidenten, waarbij lachgas in het spel is, te minimaliseren. Lachgas in het verkeer is met name onder jongeren de afgelopen jaren een groeiend probleem.

Laughing gas ban
Since 1 January 2023, laughing gas has been on list II of the Opium Act. What does this mean? From this year it is forbidden to use nitrous oxide as a stimulant:
- to have with you
- To sell
- Or to transport
The aim of this ban is to reduce the use of nitrous oxide among private individuals. With this, the government also hopes to minimize the number of traffic incidents involving laughing gas. Laughing gas in traffic has been a growing problem, especially among young people, in recent years.
